WHY YOU SHOULD EMBRACE THE RAIN FOR YOUR CALGARY ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

As a seasoned Calgary wedding photographer, I understand the urge to reschedule for engagement photos when the forecast calls for rain. But take this as your sign to embrace the weather for all that it is – rain, wind and all!

#1. Rainy engagement photos are unique! Everyone has those glowy golden hour photos, and while they are beautiful, your rainy engagement is sure to stand out. Not only that, but it makes for a special experience for you and your partner to look back on and reminisce!

#2. Rain is Romantic! Think about it: Noah and Allie’s iconic Notebook kiss wouldn’t have been nearly half as steamy as it was if it hadn’t been in the rain. The rain sets a dramatic and cinematic mood, and embracing it makes you look like a badass main character (which is the BEST feeling for your engagement photos!)

#3. Running around in the rain is FUN! Remember how much fun you used to have as a kid on a good rainy day: putting on your rubber boots and splashing about in puddles, dancing in the rain, trying to outrun the raindrops and laughing your butts off all the while? Embracing the rain for your engagement sessions lets you give into that fun, wild and free feeling, and trust me when I say it is a BLAST!

Trust me when I say running around on a true rainy spring day with these two was so freeing for all of us! Yes, we were soaked and boy did it feel good to hop in the car with seat heaters on blast afterwards, but we can all agree it was without a doubt SO worth it
